History:
The Order of the Trident began as a mercenary group of soldiers that specialized in the extermination of Drow or Black Elf (Dar’Inquendi). The founder of the organization is Sir Hero Gareth “Drowslayer” D’Averon, Master Pollarm, whose entire family was destroyed, awakening a deep-seeded hatred against any and all Drow. Fueled by his hatred he left his home town of Everik. Gareth, Captain of the fishing vessel “Merratin” sailed across the sea in search of his favored enemy. Soon after he arrived he recruited two men, Ravion Santail and Malakai Thorne, to scout the lands in hopes of uncovering the Drow stronghold. Several battles and victories passed bringing much recognition and wealth to them individually. They recruited two barbarians, Kane and Krenin, thus the Order of the Trident was born. Since its formation the members have all participated within other organization and nations holding the order as their highest allegiance. While each member followed the commands of those they had sworn loyalty to, which has put them on opposing sides in many wars, they all follow a single rule, “Never raise your blade against your brother in combat.” They may duel, they may put on a show but in the end they will never fight to kill. Over the past several years the order has faded in and out of public recognition allowing its members to shape events from behind the scenes. Since then they have come together, recruited several new members and claimed the lands of Aurum, renaming them Marbayne. While many believe the order to be nothing more than a group of blood thirsty soldiers bent upon the complete annihilation of the Drow. They have retired the title of Drowslayer leaving it to rest with the few who have carried out the role. A new group of soldiers known as Boarderwardens has been created to protect the lands from any and all threats that may arise. The lands of Marbayne were claimed as a base of operations for the order, they are also intended as a neutral land where other nations may meet to discuss treaties in an attempt to avoid war.
Description:
Order of the Trident: An organization of skilled individuals that is sworn to protect the lands by any means necessary. They range from political figureheads to common farmers who wish to make the world a better place. The Order of the Trident is a small army comprised of warriors, scouts, rangers, magi, healers, bards and common folk.
Drowslayers: The original members of the order who specialized in the eradication of Drow before, during and after the war. The title “Drowslayer” was used in place of a name and has been retired to die with those who it was applied toward.
Boarderwardens: A small group of skilled individuals within the Order of the Trident, commanded by Malakai Thorne, the one council member who was never referred to as “Drowslayer”. Through the art of diplomacy nearly all nations have agreed to allow the Boarderwardens to patrol their lands as protectors, regulators and in some circumstances, bounty hunters. In the event that a bounty is placed by one nation against another, the Boarderwardens will do what is necessary to retrieve the target and safely deliver them to Marbayne. From there a messenger is sent to both interested nations and a fair trial will be held in Marbayne. A message will also be sent to a respected individual who both, the prosecuting and defense, agree to judge the situation. The Order of the Trident will serve as enforcers until the situation has been resolved.
Requirements:
In order to gain admittance into the Order of the Trident you must have two existing members with the proper status within the order willing to speak to the Council on your behalf. The Council will make the final decision with the recommendations taken into consideration.
Identification:
A person displaying a round black, blue, red or green badge with a black or white trident in the center is most likely a member of Order of the Trident. Not all members are required to display their badge which can make it difficult to identify them at all times.
